Seems that we faced with a lack in APIs. I tested all known objects and methods to me but they didn't work. Maybe we can find an alternative with coding more.

Hmm, interesting. I bet if you step through the code, there's probably some boolean logic somewhere which is short-circuiting whatever call is made to retrieve the PostID if there is a post title set, which is why you'd be getting the -1 as the return (IIRC PostID is init'd to -1). But yes, this looks like a bug in the API itself. I'll look through the code later on.

I haven't used it, but have great faith in and respect for the folks at telerik (small "t"), the company that makes it. Their ASP.NET controls are killer stuff.

Pretty nothing beats CMS, but it is of course <b>extremely</b> expensive. I've also heard great things about RainbowPortal. Have a look at Dozing Dogs as well (recently acquired by Telligent).

Yes, it's exactly this that's behind the cs.org/Telligent blog, except it collects CS category feed URLs instead of the full feed. It's going to take a while to recognize the full potential of this in association with tagging as you've already implied.

I would rather have a "don't publish" checkbox. Otherwise it makes it look like the publishing is optional.

I don't know if this would make much sense or not, but how about a list of pre-defined tags that we have set up for our account? Maybe just a dropdown checkbox list where we can select tags we commonly use (instead of typing them in for each and every comment). Of course the ability to manually type in tags would still need to be there, but could be a huge timesaver for people who leave lots of comments ;-).

Sorry to hear about that bro. The bottom line is you have to do what you feel is best. Sometimes it's great to get opinions from others who aren't as emotionally attached, but it boils down to being your dog - and you'll make the right call because you are attached. I've had to make the call to put down two of my dogs several years back and it's never fun. Feel free to ping me if you want to chat.

Hey guys, thanks for your sentiments, I appreciate it. We have a follow up visit with his regular vet on Wednesday so we'll get some more information then.

J -- I've had to put down my beautiful cat because she was in pain. She got attacked by a dog and I spent 4500 dollars trying to get her fixed...it sounds harsh, but don't be selfish and let him live in pain. :P
