We're supposed to get melons in our farm share soon... do you think I'd be able to substitute the honeydew for whatever we happen to get?

And a note on the container garden: we don't have a window that is conducive to growing a container garden so we bought an AeroGarden, for precisely the same reasons you cited. We love it! Right now, we have basil growing like weeds, along with chives, mint, and parsley. We got it on Amazon for 150 bucks, less a 20 dollar rebate.

I think "brand" is probably a poor choice of word for bloggers that aren't setting out to build a following, so I understand your hesitation. Maybe a better word would have been "identity' or "personality," because even if you are not trying to build a following, you still want to be different from other bloggers out there, right?--with a unique voice (which I think you've done very well, by the way.)

Now, I've concluded, as usual, that all things happen for a reason and that someday, the past 8 years will start to make sense in the larger context of history (past and future).

@Kevin: Thanks! And that's neat information about your dad...your musical inclinations run in the family, eh?

@Bonnie: I'll have to check out A Walk on the Moon... it rings a bell but I don't think I've seen it!

What has been your experience with technorati so far? Mine is that everything works well on the Technorati end, and on the coComment end, but when they come together...not so well, in terms of syncing claimed blogs.

Hello! I found your blog through the Commenting Challenge, when you left a comment on my blog. So, you're helping me complete the second challenge! :)

If I were still in the classroom, I would lift your entire blog post about using wikis in the classroom and plop into my lesson plans. It sounds like you were really organized and that the kids got a lot out of it. I wonder if you would consider developing this post further, as a guide for other teachers, or doing a series of posts on the topic. I think a lot of people question the purpose of technology in the classroom, and grapple with the issue of whether we're using technology for it's own sake or if it really enhances the learning process for students. The way you've described your wiki project would sway people in the direction of technology as enhancement. This is really important in getting teachers on board the 21st Century train.

I've never seen an icebox cake stacked like that. Usually, it is in a roll/loaf sort of shape, with the wafers lined and cream sandwiched between, and the whole thing wrapped in saran wrap to keep the shape while it sets. The recipe is the same, though, thank goodness because I lost my copy! Thanks!
