Arrgh Maties - I've put this up on my blog as well - Didn't realise you already had it - I just love Pirates - have done since I was a small child brought up on classics like The Crimson Pirate and The Black Swan and of course the Disney Classic Blackbeards Ghost - Hell, I even love Cutthroat Island - so I was always going to love Pirates of the Caribbean no matter how good or bad it was - Thankfully it was good, infact it was very very good and with the added bonus of Johnny Depp in the lead role made it even better - I loved POTC 2 as well and had my kids rolling in the aisles laughing at me - when the Island warrior came out of the trees at Will Turner - I screamed and threw Popcorn everywhere!!! but I'll admit it is a film that doesn't really go anywhere because of the ending - you just want to find out what is going to happen next.

I can't wait for this though - Something to really look forward to seeing - Arrrgh Maties

I've had a similar problem with the Brigantii Moot site - It appears that during upgrading any posts assigned to more than one category get replicated - bit of a nusicence especially for a site like yours with some many posts - I'm still working my way through it. Its also broken the theme that I was using so I've swapped to a interesting green one for the time being

The links page issue is due to the way the plugin accessed the links categories - they have changed the way it is stored so the old call is now deprecated - I've fixed the Brigantii Moot links page by using wp_list_bookmarks() which appears to be the approved way of calling the list and is also more configurable wp_list_bookmarks

The font size looks fine to me

Oh its sooo easy.... >:-) - Actually I was being polite and trying to avoid bringing up your imminent milestone of turning 40 and its 9 years not 10

Oh and I wasn't comparing music when I mentioned Bowie just looks - I'll agree with you that Ghosts stands up extremely well against anything Bowie produced after Scary Monsters.

Bowie was mainstream when I first came across him - I will always love Lets Dance for that reason - I know now its not one of his better pieces of work but I found it accessible at that tender age - I was only 11 and still at Primary School or had just gone to Secondary School when Ghosts came out and my musical knowledge at that time was limited to the Top 40 and Top of the Pops - I was madly in love with Adam and the Ants and didn't really understand anything else apart from Queen, Status Quo and Mamas and the Papas- stuff my Mum listened to - I was such an innocent

Hmmm - Driving your child insane is part of being a parent - Atleast thats the reason I keep telling my kids :-) - I know my Mother drives me nuts and does things I'm not happy about BUT I still wouldn't swap her for the world she's my Mum and I love her - Same goes for my Dad - Bless 'em

As for Bread Pudding - how about this recipe from the Jack Daniels website: -

Jack Daniel's Bread Pudding

    1 cup raisins
1/3 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
    1 tablespoon orange zest
7 cups cubed white bread, lightly toasted
    4 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    3 cups milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Nutmeg
    1/4 cup butter

Combine raisins, orange zest and Jack Daniel's in small bowl; soak about 20 minutes. Butter a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Place bread cubes in prepared dish. Whisk together eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir in milk and vanilla. Fold raisin mixture into bread cubes. Pour custard over it all and let stand about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with nutmeg and dot with butter. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place in the center and bake pudding about 35-to-45 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm or cool, drizzled with heavy cream if desired. Makes 8 servings.

Sounds yummy!!!

He's actually only 48 - born David Alan Batt, Feb 23, 1958 in Lewisham, London, England according to his entry on Wikipedia - He almost shares a birthday with you although there is a few years difference - but it means he was only 24 when Japan split in '82.

I liked Japan when I was younger as well but I was drawn more towards Bowie and Duran Duran - Sylvian was just a bit too weird for me at that time.

He is not a man who has matured well - the pretty boy looks of the early 80's have long faded unlike his peers - Nick Rhodes (someone with a similar look) still looks amazing 20 years on and Bowie - looks better now than he did in 1982

I'm so glad that being left hadned is no longer seen as being deviant in some way - One of my sharpest memories is being forced by one of the Dinnerladies at school to use the spoon in my right hand - I can distinctly remember crying bitterly because I just couldn't do it - My mother went ballistic when I told her and the Dinnerlady in question was thoroughly reprimanded - Never had any problems with teachers trying to correct me though.

The cutlery thing has been a major issue for years - I always got out of laying the table as a kid because I always set it the wrong way and even now I have to check with someone righthanded to check I've done it right. Of course I immediately change the cutlery over for me as soon as I sit down although I can use it right handed now apart from spoons - that I have to use my left hand for.

Over the years I've learnt to live with my left-handedness and because of that I think I've become more and more ambidextrous - far more than right handed people are but I still have/do some odd things

For instance I use my right hand for my computer mouse, I knit right-handed (taught by my Nan who was right-handed) but I crochet left-handed (taught myself), I can use right bladed scissors in my left hand although if the handles are shaped for right-handed people they hurt my hand BUT I can't use left bladed scissors as everything cuts wrong if I use them

The shop in London is Anything-Left Handed. It used to be at the bottom of Carnaby Street - I remember visiting back in the 80's and being amazed that you could have a shop chock full of things for us south-paws. Their website is http://www.anythingleft-handed.co.uk

War of the Worlds is one of my favourites and has been ever since I was given a copy of it by an ex-boyfriend. Infact I also wrote a post

I've been discussing this issue on another forum - and despite some views from one particular member the majority feel that the legislation is a good thing although I do have to say the conversation has now denigrated into a debate about which way up you eat Boiled eggs, how you open them, what in (eggcup or bowl) and what you eat them with - which is actually very funny and highlights the stupidity of the debate very well

D: I was out last night as well on a Works Christmas Do in Manchester - JD and Red Wine on the company *hic*

If you've any of those painkillers left I'll have a couple - very very sore head today - spent most of the day feeling sorry for myself and trying not to fall asleep at my desk.

I too had to report in that I was back safe and sound in my hotel room to my OH who wasn't very happy to receive a phone call at midnight from me giggling drunkenly how much I loved him - pass the sackcloth and ashes over here - I might need them ;-)

Hehe I knew before you did - I've been checking the awards site to see when they released the list and was delighted to see you listed there - I came on here this morning to see if you had noticed as well but the lovely Nicola got there before me.

You do deserve this nomination - I know writing is like a disease for you - you have to write - take away your keyboard or deny you access to a pen and paper and you would go bananas BUT and this is the key - needing to write is not the same as writing well and you write wonderfully well - Your poems are a joy to read and your opinion pieces always thought provoking and interesting to read. You deserve this recognition

Right - thats enough ego stroking - Well done my friend you deserve it and I'll certainly be voting for you when the polls open.

I have to agree with Matthew and Sue - I didn't know whether to laugh or cry - It makes Vogon Poetry almost bearable

Strangely compelling though - Its one of those hideous things where despite the fact you know you shouldn't you can't help yourself and you read everything - including clicking through to his profile to discover he has 4 yes 4 other blogs full of his Homophobic, Racist b*llocks - Oh and he doesn't like Quebec very much either I gather :-)

Terrible poetry, terrible views - would be funny but for the fact that people like him have a bad habit of getting into positions of power!!!!

I've grown Pineapple Sage and Tangerine Sage in the past when we had our allotment - They both have a beautiful smell and a fairly unique taste of both sage and their other flavour mixed - its very interesting

I don't have them in the garden at the moment but I do have vast swathes of purple and green sage - which I meant to pick and dry this year but never got around to it

You are welcome to cuttings from my plants - And as I'm a bit of a seed junkie ( You've seen the size of my garden and I always over estimate just what exactly I can grow in it - I'd need a garden the size of a football pitch to come anywhere close to fitting it all in) I've got packets and packets of different herb seeds you are welcome to share - Infact you are likely to have them fostered on you next Spring whether you like it or not - especially if your plans work out :)
