<content>I've skipped a lot the review, no spoilers for me, but like you I haven't reread the series in a few years. I did mean to before this came out, but just haven't had the time. The book is coming to work, I know because I ordered 3 copies of all the series for our libraries so I'll read it then. I prefer to buy the pbks, they fit together on the shelves much nicer :)</content>

<content>Despite your best efforts Halloween has sorta creeped up on me this year. Not that I usually do anything in particular for it, but I used to love the whole trick'r'treatin aspect when a kid, so it's great that halloween parties seem to be making a come back. I'm going as Little Dead Riding Hood this year.

And a couple of people have suggested Halloween themed film nights so maybe I'll be all Halloweeny despite my lack of organisations :) I'll keep some of those film recommendations in mind. I loved The Others, and have been meaning to watch The Orphanage for ages. We just got Pan's Labyrinth on Blu-ray and that definitely has a Halloween vibe.</content>

<content>Best or Boss? Boss is the scrum-half with the terrible hair. Course at least one of the Bests also has terrible hair :)

We just don't have a replacement for ROG though, although it looks like &lt;a href="http://www.ontheditch.net/story.php?title=Munster_V_Scarlets"&gt;Paul Warwick is&lt;/a&gt; doing well for Munster. While he was with Connacht he never really had a chance. So a good move for him, especially if ROG's off-form continues.</content>

<content>Ah, its a joke. I've always been slightly supportive of "Steady" Eddie but after this world cup performance? Nah, can't do it. I won't go as far as calling him EIEIO, but he has made some horrendous decisions. Why have a bench if you are never going to use them? And putting people on in the 78th minute really doesn't count.

Good call on putting Reddan in, but why has he never looked for a back-up for ROG? With his current form I'd be on for playing Wallace. Or maybe even giving Humphries a late late call up.

And he seriously has to re-jig the system he is using. Either that or the senior players have to take it on to ignore his orders because it really isn't working. There are no support runners. People aren't moving onto to take the ball, they are receiving it while stationary and we are totally unable to get "go forward ball".

I can't fault the commitment of the players after that display, but have they done an England and spent too much time in the gym and not enough on handling skills?
They all seem to have dropped a few levels. And that makes it so much worse. I don't like it, but amn't as sore, when we have limited players that play and lose and make mistakes, but we all know talented the likes of O'Driscoll and D'Arcy are ... But then again, the quality of ball they recieved was abysmal.</content>

Bubbles is a great character. But Omar (I'm not sure if you've met him yet) is another that I like to watch. Don't think I'd like to meet him though :)

<content>Oh I'd run for the countryside too. I've often developed plans for when I'm the sole (ish) survivor after an apocalyptic event. You know, how, once I was safe I'd ensure that gates were left open so the likes of cows and sheep could roam so that I'd be able to enjoy meat in years to come :)

I think that maybe one of the reasons people in fiction end up in city centres is, as you say, the need for drama, but also they often show escape routes clogged with abandoned cars. Did you see the BBC's docu-drama on the day Britain Stood Still last year, or maybe the year before. Or maybe it was C4. Whatever. That is one place I wouldn't want to be when the zombies attack. Stuck in a car, in a line of cars on a motorway. With no where to flee to.

My fingers are still crossed about your rain situation :)</content>

And there is nothing worse than getting hooked into a great series and then having to wait and wait for years for the next instalment.</content>

Rocky wasn't huge in my childhood, but he was present, and it was so nice to see the little touches from the previous films, whether that was something like the tortoises or the shots from the earlier films.
Rocky really is a great character and I love the way Sly plays him.</content>
