That's awesome! Too funny. When I was in college I lived in an apartment where the people upstairs were always going at it. I was a bit of a party animal back then and always had people coming and going at all hours. Usually drunk, stoned and loud. The neighbours one day had enough and asked me to tone it down. I was all, you guys quit having sex and I'll quit having parties. Never had a problem again! :D

It's become fashionable to be atheist but it seems all this eco-crap has taken it's place. Everyone takes global warming as fact when really it is not even a hypothesis, the lowest starting point of a fact. People get vehemently dogmatic about it as they once did with religion. Very interesting. It's as if mankind needs something to believe in so completely and strongly whether it be religion, a social phenomena or scientific hypothesis. Perhaps we are hard-wired to have some sort of belief to cling to. Wow. Didn't mean to get all egg or chicken here. Sorry Bock.

OMG We went when it was here a few weeks ago and himself also got dragged up by said gay clown. He is very shy by nature and was not impressed to say the least. Kids enjoyed it, but I had to leave when the second motorbike came into the globe of death... I just couldn't handle it. So freaky. Love the picture btw! I'm with you on the animal thing, but the kids were so not impressed by the false advertising! There's a huge picture of an elephant on the outside, but not an elephant in sight. Everytime a new act started they were all "is the elephant coming now?" :)

It's a tough one K8, really is. My husband manages a shop and would rather have an all Polish staff than one Irish person. The Irish are constantly calling in drunk, I mean sick, they complain, they have bad attitudes etc. then get upset when they are passed up for promotion. It's a sad affair altogether. Don't you love how the papers use those terms Foreign national (Polish), non-national (African) to describe perpetrators of crime? The other 90% of crime stories don't describe the perpetrators as Irish nationals. Hypocrites. It's almost incitement of hatred. Almost.

Shipping is fast and reasonable and the quality of the spices is exceptional. If you spend a few more pence a bag you can even get organic varieties of most. I want to say I only paid two pound shipping last time. They come in these cute little bags too. Although I have to say I think I'd prefer jars as the bags always seem to get "lost" in my storecupboard :) Good luck! Fresh ground spices are the best.

Aw poor Bert. We had a similar problem with our cats in the states. Himself though a kitten would be great, actually he couldn't resist the cute little furball. The cat we had went nuts. The noises were unbelievable. She hated him and tried to kill him. Fast forward three months and you would find them curled up together. So cute. I miss em. I'll miss Taz though... she was a sweetie.

Hi Ree - just made this today with haricot verts, which is the only green bean type thing we can get here. I saw them at the store and thought, hey, I'm gonna try Ree's recipe. The guilt over the thought of food miles they travelled from Kenya never crossed me mind! ;-) This was a delicious recipe, even my two year old ate the, so that is high praise indeed. For the haricot, the cooking time was significantly reduced, but they were tender, buttery and flavoursome. Will be making this again for sure. Thank you!

Yup - I agree with most of it. I think to some degree it depends on the calibre of the restaurant. The husband used to manage a very high end place and the plates were arranged in the kitchen so they would come out ladies first, oldest to youngest, then men, oldest to youngest. It was real persnickety, they had to come in from the left and all this shite, but on the few occasions I actually got to eat there, it was a well orchestrated team and reeked of professionalism. I think for the wine list, stick it in the middle of the table too, then whoever orders gets to taste. Easy peasy! Agree with blondefabulous on the dessert comment too! It's always "Laydeez - how about some dessert?" Urgh. Course that could be fat ass too! ;-)

Wow Paddy - I had no idea. My little girl is starting in September. Right now my concern is how I'm going to pay for all the extras like uniforms, books and the "voluntary" donation. We moved back to Ireland from the US three years ago, one of the primary reasons being the better education. Yep - I've tried them and they're okay. They don't actually treat the cold sore, but they can make it look a lot better. You can even put lipstick on over them! YAY! Unfortunately the only thing to effectively treat the Herpes virus which causes cold sores are anti-virals. Our doctor did an experiment with the husband and put him on a 90 day oral cycle of Zovirax. That was in 2000 and he hasn't had a cold sore since. He said that there is evidence that this works for some people, but generally it just keeps them at bay for a few years. Worth a look though!

So I did think about commenting anonymously, but I figured if you saw a hit from Tullamore and an anonymous comment your MENSA mind would figure it out. But yeah, I've had a severe case of conjunctivitis for a week now. I was in denial, thinking I'd scratched the old cornea before finally going to the GP who is about 80 and told me it was the worst and most appalling spisode of pinkeye he'd ever seen. Real good for the ego. As such I had to remove the contacts and wear glasses. I think my glasses prescription goes back to when I was 15. Not good. As such my um, shaving regime, suffered. I finally put some new contacts in today after about 10 days and realised I was out of razor heads. I chose to use himself's vibrator type... Gilette something or other "it vibrates so we can charge you more" model. It could not handle girl hair. And in the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that. As a fellow Simeon-girl I am sure you understand. That is all! ;-)
