The very problem that the Democrats have is they can't get out of each others way for all the in-fighting and debating. Conservatives, for the most part, eschew intellectualism and this is good for them. They decide what they want or do not want and they line up and get it done. Liberals think too damn much. As for Sensico, if you look through the last few threads, you'll see that I don't agree with everything she says and I've said so. I don't flame her and maybe that's why my few disagreements with her fly under the radar. This is the third of three comments that I didn't think rose to the level of a new blog post, but that I needed to get off my chest anyway. The first two were about guys demanding their right to carry large penises ... oh sorry ... big guns to public events. This one has been a long time in the making. Last week, I watched Lawrence O'Donnell interview Katy Abram, a good old fashioned politically naive innocent from Pennsylvania who begged Arlen Specter to restore the Constitution of the United States and not turn us into Russia. (Video posted at end of this comment). Lawrence treated her with kid gloves relatively. For starters it's funny that Katy wants what the framers of the Constitution wanted ... since they didn't want her to vote. :-) But then things got more interesting. O'Donnell asked her about her income because unless her family is making more than $250K, she really doesn't have anything to worry about from a taxation perspective. Mmmmm, Katy doesn't know her family income because her husband takes care of the bills "he takes care of us and that's all that matters". OK, so now I figure she DOES like the old days when she couldn't vote. But then, little Miss I'm-Just-a-Happy-Dumb-Housewife drops an interesting bomb. For someone who knows nothing about the family finances, she seems pretty damn sure she has a $5,000 deductible on her health insurance policy. Mmmm, pretty damn selective about which financial stuff she keeps track of. My bullshit meter went off big time ... sirens blaring all over the place. And then ....
