But I love the old books that detail everything out and talk about family rituals. As a child I remember reading the Better Homes and Gardens cooking and housekeeping books and enjoying all the tips. I have been finding that more books which would be usually classified as chick-lit are having an extra element of depth a nd good writing as well, so I hope that writers keep experimenting and mixing it up because I love to read different genres but struggle with the quality/content issue. Other times I have lent books and either gotten them back in terrible condition or not at all, so I stopped.
