If I recall correctly, I was sent to that hotel by the information booth people at the train station. Their idea of a joke, maybe? Bad, bad joke, if so! (OMG, had forgotten about the Python bit!!) Hadn't heard about the Duggar family. Many of the women who are students in my ESL program come from enormous families ... and I notice that none of them have enormous families. Yes, some of them have several kids, which is about 4 too many for my sanity to fathom, but none of the ladies from families of 12, 14, 15 kids has more than six of her own. Gotta be a message in there. Hmm ... what could it be? And I'm really distressed by the the Duggars having 400 (oh, I mean 18) children and then making a media circus of their lives. Are they working toward a spot in the history books or something?

Wow. I'm enough of a not-fashionable-gal to have totally missed this. I clicked over from Women Alltop, saw the image as I scrolled down your page, thought "Whoa. WTF?" Appreciate our thoughts on this. I agree with (your?) mom, send this to LV. This is a really amazing story, and quite well-told. I love the compact/image photograph. Your mother and mine share the same idea about leaving the house without their make-up. My mother (72 next month) has changed her cosmetic style over the years, but definitely not her vehement connection to them! “She was in the bathroom. She had locked the door.” That’s the piece I love best in your story. The fact that she knew to lock the door, that otherwise, you’d have been able to come in and stop her. Amazing.
