By strange coincidence I happened to be involved in an informal interview situation this week where the candidate (a professional) divulged information about a client. This was done assuming that it was okay to 'chat' about this person and their professional relationship because of the nature of the work we do. Sadly, while this individual was PERFECT for our needs in every professional aspect and performed admirably at interview, their behaviour regarding confidentiality has cost them dearly. Our clients right for privacy is paramount to the existence of our organisation. Just one breech of confidence would destroy the credibility that we have worked so hard to attain over the past year. Confidentiality is a sensitive issue which must be respected for everyone's sake.

I've got a ten foot long pine counter which is three foot wide in my sitting room, it came from a shop closure sale and I love it. I shop in Lidl more than I shop in Aldi. While both have a great selection of most things that a weekly shop requires, I tend to buy in the raw and cook it from scratch. This of course means that I do buy raw meats from Aldi and find them to be fine, however I prefer the continental cooked meats in Lidl. I find that the Aldi alternative is lacking in both consistency and flavour; giving the impression that it's been made up of reconstituted meat. I also find it difficult, if not impossible to buy fresh parmesan cheese at Aldi, which is a staple that I prefer over the dried, grated variety. This said, I am fussy about cheese anyway, although I love continental cheeses, I expect my cheddar to be strong, mature and tasty. Strangely enough, another thing which is inconsistent in its presence is the humble kidney bean! Because of the difficulty experienced in both shops I now stockpile them. This is true in Lidl, Aldi & my local Tesco stores. Yes, I do have the dried variety in my store cupboard, but I honestly believe that you use more energy in the preparation of the same quantity of dried beans than that used in preparing the cans! Otherwise I find little difference in the two shops. The quality of their products is equal in most cases to many of the top brands and is often cheaper. This extends to their wines also. I will agree that some of them aren't the best, but if you are choosy you can always find something good. Maybe this is because I prefer red Spanish wines...

I love homemade mayonnaise and often use it to make lovely coleslaw/potato salad dressing. It doesn't take on the usual heavy white coated appearance of shop bought mayo, rather, a lovely clear, glistening dressing which is light and tasty without taking over the flavour of the salad ingredients...

Thanks George! Funny thing is that even bog standard Irish white bread can be delicious. By that of course I am referring to the traditional batch loaf. Its secret is due to being baked in a totally different manner from ordinary sandwich variety bread. I even managed to find a bakery in Southampton once that indulged my fancies - without being asked!

Personally I like the presentation of your stamp sets. You're right, they are clean and functional. To be honest, having tried the cd case route I find that these are actually better for me. I am a desperately untidy crafter and find that my cd cases never make it back to their lovely practical stand! By contrast I can always lay my hands on your sets simply because they are that little bit bigger. Also I've found that the sticky on your sets seems to stay better than on cd case stored sets - I'm talking about first time of use... Maybe you could sell the cd cases separately, like our friends over on PTI? That way everyone's happy... LOve those stamps!

I think the tradition of auctioning off the brides garter is a lot nicer than the tradition in this country which simply involves the groom removing the garter with his teeth! I've always thought it distasteful and a bit tacky... However, to French idea sounds like a lot more fun, a bit risqué and altogether practical (ie getting a bit of money towards the start of married life) rather than the bride just flaunting herself for all to see! Great idea.
