I agree with most of the comments - it wasn't your fault at all. But sh** happens, and the first one that happened was your flight being late. This happens though, and the more controllable circumstance was the car rental fiasco. They shouldn't have given away your car. That doesn't make sense. Lesson learned: never use that rental car company again. Or, allow a few hours after your flight lands for pick up if ever your flight becomes late again. Or better yet, get the car rental when you land, and then schedule it beforehand! My friend signed up for a car only when he got on land. (take note: he had me to pick him up and take him to the car rental though). He didn't have a lot of choices, but he still got a car. What's great though is that you had a nice cap at the end of a stressful day. God is still good.
