I have a chainless bike and I would highly recommend it - but only for certain types of riders:

I use my chainless for bike commuting only, on paved bike paths and city streets. For commuting it is a dream, bc I don't have to worry about the chain getting grease on my pants on the way to work. It is also a very low-maintenance bike, which is what you want for a commuter/city bike.

The one I got is the Runabout - its made by Dynamic.

Now I only have a 2-mile bike ride each way for my commute. For someone doing a more intense bike commute, such as from suburbs -> city, they might want to have a more traditional chain-drive bike.
