I made popsicles out of pureed mango and raw cream. It tasted exactly like a Creamsicle!

I also plan to make popsicles out of the homemade ice cream I make. I make it with raw cream and sometimes I make it with coconut milk. I've made chocolate (with organic cocoa powder), vanilla, cherry, mango, and strawberry (the fruit flavors are made with fresh organic fruit).

You can get an ice cream maker for around $50 (less if it's on sale or used).

I think ice cream and popsicles is the most wonderful way to get the good raw cream into the kids. I now consider ice cream to be a health food! (Of course we only sweeten it with honey or maple syrup and/or fruit juice).

My former nanny got an ice cream maker and makes her own now -- and every time her toddler hears the ice cream man outside, she just whips out a healthy popsicle from the freezer.

Hi, I love your blog. I am not sure how I found it but I'm very glad I did.

I am going to try the chocolate coconut milk ice cream tonight.

I know David Lebowitz BTW. Well, I met him anyway -- KNEW him. He made cookies for my wedding in 1997! Funny, eh?

Anyhow, I was going back and reading your past entries... I wanted to tell you that you can recover from dairy intolerance!

We are currently doing the "GAPS diet" which helps reverse food intolerances -- can even cure celiac diseases. You might want to look into that!

It's based on the book Gut & Psychology Syndrome by Natasha Campbell-McBride. She is reversing autism in many children with this diet -- and of course lots of food allergies and other disorders.

GAPS is based on the SCD diet -- Specific Carbohydrates Diet.

Email me if you want to know more -- you can also read about it on my blog. And there is a group for people like us doing this diet -- it's called Healing Leaky Gut on Yahoo Groups.

I still have the microwave over the range. Since we only bought it last year and we plan to sell this house within the next couple of years (I figure it will help increase the resale value).

I just leave it unplugged. And I use it now for my ferments! I put my kefir and oatmeal in there at night. Or beans or whatever it is I'm soaking.

I am so much like you -- I used to use it all the time and I couldn't imagine living without it. It's so easy now -- I have no problem not using it. It's totally just a mindset.

Now, like you, I use the toaster oven a lot, and we don't have an insta-hot water tap but I did buy a Zojirushi hot water dispenser. It probably cost just over $100 and we use it all the time!

Oh, and one other thing -- I read a study that said that they stopped heating breast milk in the microwave in NICU units in hospitals -- because the premie babies DIED.

This was not because of imbalanced heating. It changed the molecular structure of the milk and the babies could not absorb/assimilate the nutrients. So yeah, it's BAD!

Love your blog! Keep up the good work.
