It's still a bit beyond me why us people in the blogging world should be worried about how we drop links? I think the whole nofollow thing was stupid from the outset.

It's like a rat trying to chase it's tail. Google is supposed to be figuring out relevancy by analyzing website's linking patterns.

We aren't supposed to be afraid to link out because Google has decided what our linking pattern should be??

If I had significant reason to suspect that Google did penalize sites for linking out to popular blogs, perhaps I would take my blog off of my main site... but until I get clear evidence, I'm not changing my style.

I've never loved clickbank so much. I'm much happier with CJ, shareasale and linkshare, where you can build sites and use the product datafeeds. Clickbank just feels like I'm selling to the same 2% of the IM niche most of the time.

Vince thanks for the great tips... I'm just starting out myself and your suggestions are all great! I appreciate it. Keep it coming :)

I would add another tip. I've found it extremely useful to network with Design/Development/Marketing/Business Management firms. They are all looking for existing leads. So while I do the craigslist gig, the most important one for me has been B2B networking events - where my prospect is mainly those offering B2B services.
