It doesn't include southern whites who like NASCAR. "White people" are a segment of the white population that for whatever reason (guilt, a desire to be cool) do things to distance themselves from the white mainstream. Like somehow eating sushi will make them less white. This part of the population looks down at other whites for many reasons, but mainly for being close minded sheep. What the author is doing is basically doing is pointing out to these people that not only are they still white no matter what they do, but they are utterly predictable sheep. Close minded in their own special way. They are not original. They are not unique like they think they are. They are one of millions whose actions are so obvious that a blogger can describe their lives, loves and actions without even meeting or speaking to them. This comes as a major shock to some people and the bitterness comes with that. They are scared. They've lived their whole lives convincing themselves they are somehow counter culture.
