Though… I’d rather see R2 up there than Naruto, Bleach or any other overrated KyoAni series. :V

Wow, people get so serious even on blogs. Like Code Geass or dislike it, doesn’t matter – it is all up to the individual. (and its a freaking anime, you expect them to have everything realistic?…lulz) I noticed the size of the hole that the nuke left, I thought for a second that seemed to be rather small for the number of casualties, but I just ignored the fact.I watch anime for entertainment, I don’t bother nitpicking it apart.

Kaioshin Sama:We’re not the ones who mistake plot holes as nitpicking, after all. While I appreciate the positive comments you’ve given me as regards the previous post of mine, I also pointed out that Code Geass sucks even in the title itself. Because it does. But liking it is different as to telling it is good, and it’s not. I’m shooting flak towards those thoughtless raters because it doesn’t deserve to be in that position. I’ve never heard of Aria being bashed other than ‘the series will peacefully bring you to sleep,’ because it’s a great series. I’m not blindly attacking anything. I think Code Geass sucks. But I also like it. It’s a hard dualism to understand, but hey – that’s me.

The first episode reminded me a great deal of Soukou no Strain, which I enjoyed for the same reason – when you’re outclassed in real life you tend to get the ever loving snot kicked out of you, where in fiction too often the hero/ines rise to the challenge and overcome all obstacles etc. etc. I was initially disappointed by the abrupt change in tone and pace, but like watching a coming storm, the anticipation and foreknowledge of the outcome make it more exciting every episode. Therefore, kudos. And since I cannot tell a lie, the Natsuki clone did make me a little warm inside. Someone over there has good taste.

One thing I like about Ga-Rei is the fact that they know how to get the best of the diff mediums. Ultimately, the manga was more of the “typical shounen” if, when made into anime just based on the manga, it’ll just be yet another long-running series. But decided to go for a prequel. And yes, another thing about the prequel being a good adaptation is that, like you guys mentioned, people watch it precisely becoz they knew how it ended – like how Star Wars III’s selling point was to see Anakin become Vader.

Thank you for doing justice in reviewing this amazing series! Yomi’s story is a true tragedy and it left a deep impression on me even after the anime ended. Decided to have a look at the manga, and it’s pale in comparison with the anime *ugh* although apparently there’s been a few surprises on recent chapters. The thing I’ve learnt from him is that he loves jumping onto other people’s forums/blogs/personal diary/whatever screaming walls of text and whine how the mass public fails to understand him on his own blog. Yet I can’t fully ignore him since while literally all of his posts scream ‘I’m a pretentious, arrogant asshole and all of you guys are idiotic pricks unworthy for my presence’, occasionally he writes some pretty damn good articles. Real shame his attitude sucks and fails to see how he’s pretty much a model hypocrite.

TheBigN:The manga didn’t amaze me as much as well. It was significantly lighter and less well-plotted fare, but it was still quite entertaining. Lehq:The prequel was primarily awesome because it didn’t degrade itself into mere shounen fare, and instead told a beautiful tragedy.

Using Occam’s Razor, what seems the simplest solution to me is to examine what is right before my eyes, and that is that the radius of the bomb is huge. I don’t need to use Occam’s Razor to put up a debate though, I prefer reasonable doubt instead. I know you are desperate to try and find inconsistencies because you are currently in an uproar over the series popularity, not to mention I asked if you could, but there is a lot of reasonable doubt here in translation possibilities (which to me upon review sounds like “Ni Tai….” and not “Ritoru”) and actual meaning of what Suzaku said (which could as miasmacloud pointed out in her own article [although she has a LOT of facts wrong such as what primary and secondary casualties refer to and the death total] have been any number of things in the long list of technobabble gibberish that has surrounded this already science fiction based bomb. <a href="http://animehistory.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/snapshot20080830082817.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://animehistory.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/snapshot20080830082817.jpg</a> and does this not look like science fiction stuff to you?). When in doubt, I give the benefit of the doubt.Anyway, look, I’m trying to get off this topic and go to bed so I’ll make you a deal. If you can think of something in the series that is undoubtedly a plot hole and want to make a big deal out of it in this ragefest against this popular series then stop by my blog one time and just hit me with it. I’ll be more then happy to respond. Until then we’re just going to be locked in an endless debate.

No, but have you asked yourself whether he actually say 40,000,000 L in episode or have you considered that a) he’s referring to a different measure of destruction then volume or b) the translation is entirely wrong to begin with (it seriously sounds to me like he’s saying a word starting with “ni” instead of “li” followed by “tai”) c)that the bomb is based entirely in the realm of science fiction (which should be evident by the readout display with all that technobabble gibberish on it when it explodes) and thus follows it’s own set of physics.

@Michael: Noted.@miasmacloud: Actually I style myself as a monotony breaker more then anything. You worry about the trolling and let me worry about blank. Also cut me some slack on the math thing over yonder will you? @Ignorantbystander: More or less yes. Thank you for trying to get things back on topic a little here. These “polls” actually work like this from what I’ve seen, and I’ve been studying them since the year 2005 by the way. The more popular a series, the higher up it usually gets on these polls, usually reaching their highest point in the list at the peak of their popularity. The day Code Geass R2 came out it was ranked number 1 on the ANN all time poll with a median rating of 10. That’s just ridiculous and I guess people weren’t paying attention then, but that should have set the tone for things to come and shown just how easily manipulatible these polls are. In short they are about as useful for gauging a series quality as asking it’s biggest fanboy.Like everything popular though it eventually gets replaced by the next big thing. Can you guess what happens to each series on the list when it fades from the limelight?@IJ:I’m sorry I don’t quite follow your first bit, but I cannot remember the last time I attacked anybody for liking something I didn’t like so that’s not a problem. I used to be like that, (would love to forget those days) but not anymore. In fact truth be told I actually quite like Clannad, mostly Kotomi though. Hush Hush…. :/I think that settles everything hopefully?

So anyway I stopped watching Geass after one of it’s nicer characters got meaninglessly shot dead recently by a guy the main character should have killed a long time ago but decided to use as a tool against his greater enemy (at a terrible unforseen cost to which i presume he’s as yet ignorant) so I’m kinda not up to date on what’s been happening but from a brief browse of this thread (sorry Kaioshin sama if i missed some nuance in your verbose expression of your opinion), in a nutshell, the thread creator is raging that Geass R2 made it to a list of top ten anime of all time (I’m kinda leaning towards your opinion here ;D) and Kaioshin, you’re wondering why anyone even cares?

@IJ:It’s called making a comparison. You want to point out where I derided a show I can’t possibly deride since it hasn’t actually aired yet then be my guest, but you’ll get absolutely nowhere. This is because all I did was highlight a similar example as the one Michael is pointing out in Code Geass as to why these polls aren’t valid since they have series that haven’t ended yet or haven’t even aired yet on them, even if he himself doesn’t know that he is. Sorry it had to be a Kyoani show that I used to draw the comparsion. What, are those off limits now? You’re the pot calling the kettle black here and the one light up on them like white phosphorus. I never argued that Code Geass has any right to be up on an all time best series poll, but you seem to have an issue that I would dare suggest a series that hasn’t even aired yet doesn’t belong on the poll just the same. You want some other series that are on the poll that have no business being there since they aren’t done? How about TJ_Hans Detroit Metal City? How about Macross Frontier? How about Xam’d Lost Memories? None of them have any right being on an all time best poll since none are close to be done yet, but you know what, it’s actually just a popularity poll, hence why Clannad After Story is on there as well despite not having even aired, because it’s popular. You want to find fault with something where I’ve been more then fair then be my guest, but you just make yourself look like some petty renegade fansubber (I mean seriously, what fansubber goes around harassing somebody and trying to push buttons in vain instead of just minding their own business….FANSUBBING!) in the process and more of a fanboy then I could ever rightly be called. Anyway nice try there with what I assume was supposed to be an insult, but like I said I don’t give a damn about Sunrise, never did, I just happen to like a lot of their shows and have defended points on Gundam and Geass in the past where the sole charge against them was that they were by Sunrise. Shows are more important to me then some corporate entity could ever be, unlike what seems to be the case with other people where the studio is as or more important then the actual show itself. Proportional response on the same level. Until you people all realize that you’re just going to be barking up the wrong tree.Go running to your friend Ascaloth, get him to write all sorts of horrible things about me. How dare I hold contrary opinions to the majority. Look……I don’t care. Like I said I’ve pretty much given up on all of you people anyway so it really doesn’t matter to me at all. You people just believe whatever you want to believe and can’t even distinguish the obvious as to what I’m getting at when it’s right in front of your face so it’s not like I could ever win with you all anyway.

Martin Luther King Jr. must be rolling in his grave right now. Mature man, extremely mature…..I had actually thought you were better then that when I first gave you some credit for your last article. I could say a lot more about what I think of your credibility right now that has nothing to do with your physical appearance and everything to do with what you’ve said up to now, but I prefer to hold my tongue for unrelated reasons. We will agree to disagree, though don’t expect your argumentum ad populum to hold much sway. Just because people might agree with you on the idea that their could be plot holes I’ve overlooked doesn’t mean anything unless they come with evidence to prove them beyond a reasonable doubt.
